ICC Releases Latest Men's T20I Player Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a new T20 ranking of players, according to which Pakistani captain Babar Azam retains his first position and Mohammad Rizwan has secured the fourth position after a slight improvement.

According to the rankings released by the ICC on Wednesday, India’s batsman Kannur Lokesh Rahul is ranked fifth who scored 80 runs in the series against New Zealand, while Mohammad Rizwan scored 90 runs in the series against Bangladesh.

Moreover, Pakistan’s left handed batter Fakhar Zaman has moved up five positions to achieve the 35th position in the rankings. England’s Dawid Milan is in the second position with 805 rating points while South Africa’s Aiden Markram is in the third position. However, former Indian captain Virat Kohli is no where to be seen in the top ten list of T20 batters.

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga tops the bowlers’ rankings, while second, third and fourth are Tabraiz Shamsi, Adam Zampa and Adil Rashid respectively. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has slipped one place to 11th position in the rankings, while Shadab Khan has slipped two places to 14th.

It is to be noted that India’s KL Rahul is the only player among the list of top ten batters, bowlers and all-rounders in the new rankings released by the ICC. In the latest rankings released, three Afghanistan players are among the top ten positions, while one player each from Namibia and Oman have secured positions.
