India: Military Intelligence and Bhuj Police have busted the alleged illegal storage and sale of army uniforms following raids on two shops in Gujarat’s strategically sensitive Kutch district.

The joint operation was conducted at Dhaka Army General Store near Bhuj RTO Circle and Raghav Army and Sports Store in Madhapar, where authorities seized 128 metres of combat uniform fabric, 50 pairs of combat dresses, 280 army-style caps, and 36 coats and jackets.

Three people, including the shop owners and their associates, have been booked following a police complaint. Investigators are now examining the source of the military-pattern material and whether it was being stored or sold without the required authorization.

The seizure has raised security concerns in the border district, which lies close to Pakistan, over the possible misuse of military-style clothing for impersonation or other unauthorized activities.

Police are also investigating whether the seized items were part of a wider supply network and whether there were plans to transport the material to other locations.

The operation has highlighted concerns over the unauthorized sale of military-pattern clothing in open markets, particularly in strategically sensitive border areas.
