India and Japan to Play T20I to Mark 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations

India and Japan are set to mark the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations with a special men’s T20 International cricket match, bringing the two countries together through sport.
The match, featuring the men’s teams of India and Japan, will be played on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Sano International Cricket Ground in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
The Japan Cricket Association (JCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the fixture as part of celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The match, to be known as the Suzuki Cup, is expected to provide a significant platform for the development of cricket in Japan while highlighting the growing people-to-people and sporting ties between India and Japan.
