Indian Diplomat Naren Dhar Found Dead at Assistant High Commission in Bangladesh

Bangladesh: A mid-level Indian diplomat, Naren Dhar, was found dead Tuesday morning inside the premises of the Indian Assistant High Commission in Khulshi area here, triggering concern amid already strained India-Bangladesh ties.

According to initial reports, the body of the 38-year-old Protocol Officer was recovered from the mission compound. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the body has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Bangladeshi police and Indian mission officials are expected to issue statements shortly. No further details on circumstances surrounding the discovery have been released so far.

The incident comes at a time of heightened sensitivities between the two countries following recent unrest in Bangladesh and attacks on Indian diplomatic premises in the past months. Authorities have not linked the death to any foul play at this stage.
