The Indian Embassy in Oman is coordinating the evacuation of the entire crew from the commercial tanker MT Jalveer, which was attacked off the Omani coast near Shinas port. This marks the third incident involving Indian seafarers on commercial vessels in the region within the past three days.

According to an official update, the crew is being moved to Shinas port with the assistance of the Royal Navy of Oman. The operation is expected to be completed soon, and all crew members, predominantly Indian nationals, are reported safe.

The MT Jalveer, a Guinea-Bissau-flagged asphalt/bitumen tanker, came under attack near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. The vessel suffered damage, including a fire in the engine room and other areas, after which it issued a distress signal.

Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with Omani officials. The safety and well-being of the Indian seafarers remain the top priority, with necessary support being arranged upon their arrival at the port.

Further details on the exact nature of the attack and the extent of damage are still emerging as investigations continue amid heightened regional maritime security concerns.
