IIOJK: An IndiGo Airbus A321 operating flight 6E 225 from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar struck a Visual Docking Guidance System pole while parking at Srinagar International Airport on Friday morning. The aircraft sustained damage, but no passengers or crew members were injured.

The incident occurred at around 9:02 am after the aircraft, registered VT-NOG, had landed safely and was being positioned at Bay No. 6. The Airports Authority of India confirmed that the aircraft came into contact with the VDGS pole during the parking manoeuvre.

All passengers and crew members were safely deboarded using manual aircraft stairs. Airport operations remained normal, with other flights continuing to arrive and depart as scheduled.

IndiGo said the aircraft “came in contact with a parking stand pole during parking” and that the relevant authorities were informed immediately. The aircraft has been grounded for inspection and necessary maintenance and will return to service only after obtaining the required clearances.

An investigation is under way to establish the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
