Lahore (3rd Mar, 2020): An investigation into Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) ‘unmanned flights’ has been initiated.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, Civil Aviation Authority begins investigation against PIA’s flight from London to Islamabad.

PIA flight PK786 causes serious concern

The flight captain briefed the civil aviation authority’s department, the aircraft captain and the first officer’s statements were recorded. Capt. Salman, President Palpa, says that he will look into the matter when there is an official report. In this regard, the statement of the cockpit crew will also be recorded today.

According to PIA’s spokesman, Pakistan International Airlines’ authority has personally requested the SIB to conduct a transparent investigation into the matter. The Hungarian Air Traffic Controller had given direct route to the air traffic, which was confirmed by Romania and Czech authorities by the aircraft, while, PIA insists that they did not receive any report from anybody, however, SIB will also seek reports from the aforementioned countries to confirm the authenticity.

It should be noted that while PIA flight 786 was passing through Eastern Europe, the PIA pilot could not contact air traffic control, at the same time another pilot who was traveling from London Heathrow to Islamabad reportedly experienced silence for 50 minutes with the air traffic authorities. Missing out of control and unable to connect, the PK-786 flight was disconnected while it was passing German airspace, as per report by Herald Aviation who said that when a Czech passenger was detained by the PKK. When the 777 arrived, there were repeated attempts by air traffic control but no Pakistani pilot received the message.

Moreover, German aviation sources believe that the Pakistani plane, which was about to cross the airspace, was to be prevented entry into the German airspace since no radio contact had been established, however, the aircraft entered into Hungary’s border, according to German officials.

The Hungarian Air Force’s warplanes began to cover it, interestingly, despite the danger, the Pakistani pilot did not contact anyone and proceeded, when the Pakistani aircraft entered Romania’s airspace, then the pilot was able to retrieve contact with the air control tower. Contacted by the controller, Herald Aviation sources have revealed that no Pakistani plane was approached for 50 minutes in the atmosphere of Czech-Slovakia and Hungary, but no contact was made, sources say.

It is maintained by PIA that Flight 786 was up to date, with air traffic controlling several times but no response was received.
