Iran Presented Reasonable Initiatives; Ball Now in US Court to Act Realistically: Iranian Media

An informed Iranian source stated that Tehran has put forward reasonable initiatives and constructive proposals during the recent talks with the United States, underlining that the ball is now in Washington’s court to approach the outstanding issues with realism and seriousness.

The source told Mehr News Agency that Iran demonstrated genuine flexibility and a sincere commitment to addressing concerns, especially on the nuclear program, while expecting the American side to engage in good faith without unrealistic demands.

This stance aligns with previous remarks by senior Iranian officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi, who has repeatedly signaled Iran’s readiness to consider practical compromises provided the US shows willingness to lift sanctions and work toward a mutually acceptable deal.

Iranian negotiators have described their proposals as realistic steps aimed at building confidence and removing pretexts during the indirect negotiations, such as those recently held in various venues including Geneva and other mediated locations.

Tehran continues to stress that any final agreement must fully respect Iran’s inalienable rights, particularly its peaceful nuclear activities under international law. Officials have called on the United States to prove its commitment to diplomacy instead of relying on pressure tactics or maximalist positions.
