An Additional District and Sessions Court (South) on Thursday acquitted Anmol, also known as Pinky, in a narcotics case registered at the Gizri police station in 2021.

The court accepted the defence plea and discharged the accused from the case. Advocate Anam Kausar represented Anmol during the hearing.

The defence counsel argued that Anmol had been nominated in the case solely on the basis of statements made by her co-accused. The two other accused, identified as Ali and Fahmida, were acquitted by the court in 2024.

Following their acquittal, the lawyer submitted, there was no longer any possibility of Anmol being convicted in the same case. The court agreed and ordered her discharge.

Some reports indicated that the court also cleared Anmol in two additional narcotics cases registered at the same police station in 2020 and 2022.
