Key BLA Commander Killed in CTD Operation in Karachi

A major counterterrorism operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department in Karachi resulted in the killing of four wanted militants during an intelligence-based raid in Shah Latif Town, Malir on February 17.

According to officials, subsequent investigation confirmed that one of the militants was Suhail Baloch alias “Garak,” a key commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) Al-Fateh Squad.

Authorities stated that Suhail Baloch was involved in multiple acts of terrorism, including target killings, coordination of weapons and logistics, and arranging suicide bombers for attacks.

Security sources revealed that he was linked to the killing of more than 50 security personnel and civilians and maintained direct contact with senior BLA leadership.

Officials described the operation as a significant success, saying it has dealt a major blow to the militant network and effectively foiled a potential large-scale terror plot in Karachi.

Further investigations are underway.
