Massive Reshuffle in Islamabad Police, 12 Top Cops Transferred

In a massive reshuffle in capital police, the Establishment Division on Tuesday has posted out a dozen senior police officers and replaced by officers serving in Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) with an immediate effect.

According to the details, two BS-20 officers, a BS-19 officer and six BS-18 officers have been transferred to the federal capital. Jahanzaib Nazir Khan (BS-20) was serving in Punjab while Awais Ahmed (BS-20) was serving in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Apart from them, Muhammad Faisal (BS-19) and BS-18 officers Lt (retd)  Kamran Amir Khan, Tassawar Iqbal, Dr. Fahad Ahmed, Syed Ali, Zia ud Deen Ahmed and Captain (retd) Mazhar Iqbal were serving in Punjab.

Furthermore, according to the notification, a BS-20 officer Muhammad Saleem has been transferred and posted in National Highways and Motorways Police (NHMP) while another BS-20 officer Waqaruddin Syed’s services have been handed over to the GB government. The two officers made the transfer due to the appointment of Ahsan Younis, who is younger than them.

It is pertinent to mention here that these postings/transferred are being made after the recent appointment of a BS-20 police officer Ahsan Younas as Inspector General of Police Islamabad.

It is also worth-mentioning here that a few days after Ahsan Younis took charge, over 550 First Information Reports (FIRs) of theft and robbery have been registered in the federal capital Islamabad in a single day.

The law and order situation in Islamabad has deteriorated drastically. Few days before, a robbery took place in front of IG Islamabad’s house in broad daylight, after which he was transferred and replaced by Ahsan Younis from Lahore. Baaghi TV has learnt from reliable sources that 554 FIRs have been registered in the federal capital in different crimes like theft, robbery and the police is acting as a silent spectator.
