Mehbooba Mufti Credits Pakistan for Helping Avert Global Conflict

IIOJK: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday welcomed the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing it as a “blessed day” and crediting Pakistan with playing a central role in preventing a larger conflict. 

In a press conference in Srinagar, Mufti stated: “Pakistan’s central role during this ceasefire cannot be ignored as it brought the world out of the brink of catastrophe. Pakistan should be appreciated for its role during this war and for bringing this ceasefire.”

She added that some leaders suffering from “Pakistan phobia” should overcome their fear and acknowledge Pakistan’s contribution.

Mufti also lauded Iran’s restraint, saying: “Iran only attacked military installations unlike the US,” and praised the “bravery” and “courage” of the Iranian people and leadership for standing firm against a superpower.

She expressed hope that the ceasefire would become permanent and wished prosperity for Iran.
