Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan slammed the actress as she can be seen dancing in the TVC. Although, notable personalities have expressed their displeasure at the display of the TVC. However, this time the actress has not been slammed by the public.
Pakistan journalist Ansar Abbasi was one of the first people to report about the “indecent moves” in the advertisement. He pointed out about the obscene dance moves and that too for a biscuit commercial which he considered “highly uncalled for”. Abbasi proceeded to ask the authorities at PEMRA and PM Khan to take action against such content. Minister Ali Muhammad Khan, on the other hand, added fuel to fire as he termed the TVC as “anti-Islamic”.
It is to be noted that while the advertisement has been harshly criticized by many, there have been some including, Minister Fawad Chaudhry who has questioned the motives of those calling the TVC un-Islamic. The Minister for Science & Technology tweeted that such people, namely Ansar Abbasi and Ali Muhammad Khan, should “Do something productive”.
Meanwhile, Mehwish Hayat has also chipped in with her own reaction to the ongoing controversy. The actress tweeted, “I don’t need your approval, darling. I have my own!”
