According to a report by Baaghi TV, CTD raided a house in Ronai area of Chilas district of Gilgit-Baltistan last night, killing five policemen, including a CTD officer, while two civilians were also killed in the operation.

According to CTD sources, the fugitive terrorists were hiding in the house while the locals said that the police had acted on the basis of false information. The young man was killed in front of his old mother. it is being reported that  Izharullah was not a terrorist but a student of international relations in NUML.

The Chilas tragedy has raised many questions. What kind of terrorist was Izharullah who was killed against whom there was no FIR in any police station yet? What kind of operation was this in which the bodies of the slain policemen were lying inside the house while the bodies of the alleged terrorist student and his accomplice were killed outside the house even though the opposite should have been the case.

How did the CTD personnel carry out such a large scale operation without taking the district police into confidence? The operation was carried out suddenly with such secrecy and heavy contingent. Then how could only two minors in the house do such a heavy damage to the police? Is there any third party involved in killing CTD personnel and both civilians? Isn’t this a planned operation to pave the way for a major operation somewhere in Diamer?

The relatives of the student killed in the Chilas tragedy protested. Meanwhile, a large number of locals also took to the streets and protested by placing the body on the road. The DPO reached the spot and held talks. This incident has demanded an investigation.

A user said that in the Chilas tragedy, a student of NUML University was unjustly martyred and a trend will be started on Twitter tonight at 8 o’clock against showing terrorism.

Another user said that no FIR has been registered against Izhar-ul-Haq student NUML University Islamabad in the whole of Pakistan. But in Chilas, the police broke into his house at night and martyred him. The people of Diamer will not remain silent on this oppression.

On the other hand, Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon has strongly condemned the attack on CTD police by the accused during the raid in Chilas.

Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Raja Jalal expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of police personnel in the attack and expressed sympathy to the families of the martyrs and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.

The Governor Gilgit-Baltistan sought an incident report from the IGP and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan and issued orders to provide the best medical facilities to the injured police personnel. Soldiers have made enormous sacrifices. We salute and pay tribute to the policemen who sacrificed their lives for the area.
