According to a Baaghi TV report, apart from many cities of Punjab, including in its provincial capital Lahore, Karachi is experiencing rain showers. 

According to reports, rains in Lahore started in the morning and continued till the afternoon with power outages in many areas due to heavy rains. Despite the weather becoming pleasant, the roof of a house in Shahdara collapsed due to the rain resulting in a family of six getting hurt. The injured who have since been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical assistance include Afzal Malik, 42, Sonia Afzal, 35, Kaniz Fatima, 7, Tania Abbas, 30, Ghulam Abbas, 35, and Dua. 

According to the Meteorological (MET) Department, rain is likely to continue intermittently today. On the other hand, monsoon rains are continuing in Nankana Sahib and surrounding areas. Likewise, rains in Okara, have led to a decrease in the intensity of heat and humidity. In Multan and its surrounding regions, drizzle continues.

Meanwhile, rain is continuing in Karachi with a possibility of more rain with thunder in the next 24 hours. There was light rain in Saddar, I.I. Changrigarh Road, Clifton, and nearby areas of Karachi this morning. According to the Met department, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Karachi till 9 July. 

On the other hand, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says that the progress of rains in the country is being monitored through various international and regional climate models. In a tweet, NDMA released the details of the rain and the damage caused by it in different areas of the country during the last 24 hours. NDMA further said that 6 people died in Balochistan so far along with the damage to one house, while 8 people have been injured.

In the last 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8 people have died and one person has been injured, while one house has been damaged. In this way, a total of 18 deaths, 35 people injured and 44 houses have been damaged in the province. A total of 43 deaths occurred in Punjab while 82 people were injured and 31 houses were damaged. During the last 24 hours, 9 deaths have been recorded in the province while 37 people have been injured and 13 houses have been damaged.

NDMA has said that there is no report of any loss of life or property during the recent rains in Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, one house has been damaged in the last 24 hours while so far one person has died and only one house has been affected.

NDMA has warned that strong winds and thundershowers are likely to occur in the North, and North-West Punjab including Lahore, Sialkot, and Narowal. There is also a fear of urban flooding in various cities including the river channels of the hilly areas of the country. Similarly, Karachi, Tharparkar, Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Badin, and Shaheed Benazirabad in Sindh, Sibi, Zhob, Kohlu, Qila Saifullah, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Laura Lai, Dera Bugti and Lasbela in North-Eastern Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. More rains are expected in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Malam Jabba, and Balakot.
