A no confidence motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan was filed by the angered members and allies of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

It may be recalled that the angry members of the Balochistan Assembly, ministers and allies had given a deadline to the Chief Minister of Balochistan to resign by this evening.

During the press conference, the provincial minister Asad Baloch said:

“We met the delegation sent by the chief minister and asked for more time for Jam Kamal. However, we said that we have already given Jam Kamal three years and now more time. The numbers of angry members, allies and opposition are a lot. However, we have the support of 38 to 40 members. We have written our resignations, we will just wait for our colleagues for the next 24 hours, after which the resignations will be submitted.”

Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani said in a statement that Jam Kamal Khan had the support of all lawmakers. Efforts are under way to persuade angry members to end their protest and join the government.

Earlier, the political crisis in Balochistan began to intensify. Members angry with Chief Minister Jam Kamal have taken a big decision. Three ministers and two advisers have decided to resign from the Balochistan cabinet. Ministers and advisers have tendered their resignations to Zahoor Buledi. In addition to the ministers and advisers, four parliamentary secretaries are among those who have submitted their resignations.

Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Asad Baloch have submitted their resignations under the pressure.

Talking to a private TV channel, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan stated:

“Talks are underway and things will be fine. I do not want to go for the politics of resignations. This has happened four or five times before as well. The people are angry and we will bring them back.”
