According to the report of Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the nation on the occasion of Independence Day and said that today is the day to pledge to follow the ideology of the Quaid.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also paid tributes to those who sacrificed their lives in defense of dear homeland Pakistan. In his message, the Prime Minister said that on the day of Independence Day, we are saddened by the plight of Kashmiri brothers in Indian-occupied Kashmir. We stand with the Kashmiri brothers in their struggle for self-determination and will continue to raise our voice for them at every forum.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that military siege has been going on in occupied Kashmir for the last one year. The sons of the nation made sacrifices to defend this land and its ideology.
On the occasion of independence we should also remember our Kashmiri brothers, our hearts are saddened for them as they have been facing military siege for the last one year, we stand firmly behind our Kashmiri brothers in the struggle for self-determination. We will continue to raise our voices for them on every available forum.
PM Imran Khan further said that in the last seventy years we have faced many challenges, we have fought on internal and external fronts, our nation has bravely fought the enmity of neighboring country, terrorism, natural disasters, epidemics. Our nation has always fought against diseases with perseverance. We promise today that we will remain steadfast.
On the occasion of Independence Day celebrations, prestigious celebrations of change guards were held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore. The day started with a salute of 31 cannons in the federal capital Islamabad while 21 cannons were saluted in all the four provinces. After the Fajr prayers, special prayers were offered in the mosques for the stability, development and prosperity of the country.
The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad with President Arif Ali as the chief guest. Federal ministers, civil and military leaders also attended the ceremony.
