Pakistan Issues 737 Visas to Indian Sikh Pilgrims for Guru Arjun Dev Ji Martyrdom Day Observances

India: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued 737 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India to enable their participation in the annual religious festival commemorating the Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji, scheduled to be held in Pakistan from June 10 to June 19, 2026.

During their stay, the pilgrims are expected to visit several of Sikhism’s most revered holy sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.

Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires to India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, extended his heartfelt felicitations to the pilgrims and expressed hope that they would have a spiritually enriching and fulfilling yatra.

The issuance of visas reflects the Government of Pakistan’s continued commitment to facilitating religious tourism and implementing the 1974 Bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, which provides a framework for pilgrims from both Pakistan and India to visit sacred religious sites across the border.

The annual observance of the Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji attracts Sikh devotees from around the world and remains an important event in the Sikh religious calendar.
