ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Today/ The Nation) — April 18, 2026: Pakistan has officially launched its annual Hajj flight operation, marking the beginning of large-scale pilgrim departures to the holy cities of Saudi Arabia under government arrangements.
According to officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the first Hajj flight from Islamabad International Airport will depart after a special ceremony organised to bid farewell to the initial group of pilgrims from the federal capital.

A ministry spokesperson confirmed: “A special ceremony will be organised at the airport to see off the first group of pilgrims.”

Officials stated that approximately 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims will travel under the government Hajj scheme through a coordinated air operation spanning several weeks.
