Sept 9, 2021: As a goodwill gesture, the first consignment of humanitarian aid from Pakistan to Kabul, including food and medicine for the people of Afghanistan, will be sent on Thursday by three C-130 aircraft.

The Pakistan Foreign Office said on Wednesday that more supplies would be sent by land after the first installments of the air route. “The government of Pakistan will continue to do its utmost to help the Afghan brothers in the current challenging environment.”

The spokesman said that Pakistan also urged the international community to play its role in helping the people of Afghanistan to avoid a possible humanitarian crisis. C-130 flights are planned for Kabul, Khost and Kandahar, an official said.

Pakistani Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan received the goods at Kabul Airport. The relief goods sent to Afghanistan include flour and ghee. Pakistani Ambassador to Kabul Mansoor Ahmad Khan said that Pakistan was sending food and medicine to Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s humanitarian assistance to Afghan brothers and sisters will continue in the days to come.

A consignment of food and medicine was sent to help the Afghan people. Pakistan says it is with Afghanistan in difficult times.

Pakistan has been urging the international community to help Afghanistan avoid economic catastrophe and humanitarian crisis after the fall of the Ashraf Ghani government. The landlocked country has been cut off from the rest of the world for almost a month after the fall of the previous government.

On the other hand, Afghan Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen in an interview to Chinese media said that Afghanistan is facing many challenges. Sohail Shaheen said that Afghan citizens need food and other basic necessities, 70% of the people in Afghanistan are living in poverty.

 The country needs humanitarian assistance from neighbors and other countries. Shaheen said peace in Afghanistan is one of the regime’s top priorities, along with reconstruction of Afghanistan and maintaining good relations with the world. China has agreed to help build the war torn country.

Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has called on the world that we need international aid. We welcome international aid to Afghanistan, but aid to Afghanistan must be unconditional.
