Pakistani Cadet Declared Best Foreign Graduate at Australian Military Academy
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that Pakistani Army Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas (PMA 152 Long Course) has been declared the “Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet” at the passing out parade held at the Royal Military College Duntroon in Canberra on May 5, 2026.
The prestigious award is conferred upon the highest-performing foreign cadet across all aspects of military training, reflecting exceptional professionalism, commitment, and excellence demonstrated by Pakistan Army’s emerging leadership.
The commissioning parade was reviewed by the Australian Chief of Army, Simon Stuart. The ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, including the Pakistani High Commissioner to Canberra, families of graduating cadets, and senior officials of the Australian Defence Force.
Pakistan and Australia share a longstanding military relationship. Since 2013, seven officers of the Pakistan Army have served as platoon commanders on the faculty of RMC, while 46 Pakistani cadets have graduated from the institution since 2009.
This achievement marks the 14th occasion a Pakistani Army cadet has been awarded the title of Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet. Among previous recipients is Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat, who embraced martyrdom on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan.
His name is inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, symbolizing the enduring legacy of courage, sacrifice, and honour upheld by Pakistani Army officers.
