PMML Alleges Electoral Tampering in AJK Polls, Demands Release of Results Under Form 24

PMML Press Conference

LAHORE: Former Federal Minister Chaudhry Daniyal Aziz, accompanied by leaders of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), alleged that the results of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election in LA-37 Jammu IV (Narowal) had been manipulated and called for an independent review of the electoral process.
Addressing an emergency press conference, Daniyal Aziz claimed that his side had secured victory according to Form 24, but alleged that the officially announced results did not reflect the mandate of the voters. He criticized what he described as irregularities in the counting process and called for transparency in the compilation of election results.
PMML spokesperson Dr. Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi, Deputy Secretary General Khalid Naik Gujjar, LA-37 candidate Usman Aleem, Muslim Youth League President Tabish Qayyum, PMML Narowal General Secretary Irfan Mahais, and other party leaders were also present.
Daniyal Aziz alleged that dozens of polling stations had been targeted before polling day and claimed that polling agents and party representatives were removed during the vote-counting process despite repeated complaints to the relevant authorities. He further alleged that state resources had been used to influence the electoral process and urged authorities to ensure accountability.
Usman Aleem said the constituency is home to a large refugee population and stressed that refugee voters should be able to exercise their democratic rights without obstacles. He urged the authorities to respect the public mandate and conduct a transparent review of the election process.
During the press conference, Dr. Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi presented what he described as a 47-minute video containing evidence of alleged polling irregularities and procedural violations. He claimed the footage raised serious questions about the transparency of the election and called for an impartial investigation.
The PMML leaders demanded that the results of LA-37 and other disputed constituencies be reviewed independently, that results be issued in accordance with Form 24, and that any individuals found responsible for electoral irregularities be held accountable under the law.
