khalid Masood Sandhu

LAHORE: Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) President Khalid Masood Sandhu has called on the government to take immediate and effective steps for the safe recovery of Pakistani citizens reportedly abducted in Somalia, saying the matter requires urgent diplomatic attention.
Sandhu said that 57 days have passed since the abduction, yet no visible progress has been made towards securing the release of the kidnapped Pakistanis. He expressed concern over the continued silence of the authorities despite repeated appeals and the emergence of new videos and messages related to the hostages.
He said the government has a responsibility to ensure the safety and return of Pakistani citizens abroad and cannot ignore its obligations. He added that the families of the abducted individuals have been living in distress and uncertainty for weeks and are looking to the authorities for meaningful action to secure their release.
Sandhu said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should utilize all available diplomatic channels and international contacts to secure the safe recovery of the abducted Pakistanis. He emphasized that protecting the lives and security of Pakistani citizens, whether at home or abroad, is a fundamental responsibility of the state.
The PMML president also expressed solidarity with the families of the kidnapped individuals and urged the government to move beyond verbal assurances and take practical measures for their release.
He called on the relevant authorities to keep the families informed about developments and ensure that every possible effort is made to bring the abducted Pakistanis back home safely and without delay.
