Foreign Ministers of Eight Countries Call for Diplomacy to Ease Middle East Tensions

Foreign ministers from Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom have issued a joint statement calling for diplomacy and dialogue to end escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The joint meeting discussed the overall regional situation, including the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Participants stressed that urgent negotiations and de-escalation were essential to resolving regional disputes and establishing peace and stability.

The statement reaffirmed support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and condemned attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government.

The eight countries also expressed concern over tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Black Sea, emphasizing the need to ensure safe and unimpeded navigation through international maritime routes.

The foreign ministers underscored the importance of implementing relevant United Nations resolutions to achieve lasting solutions to regional and international conflicts.

They also pledged to continue joint diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace, stability, trade and economic security. The participants agreed to maintain consultations and dialogue among the eight countries to prevent further escalation and advance peace across the region.
