Former Data Darbar Khateeb Found Guilty of Financial Irregularities and Misconduct


A departmental inquiry conducted by the Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department has found former Data Darbar Khateeb Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi guilty of charges including financial corruption, embezzlement, fraud, forgery and misconduct.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Auqaf Department, the inquiry against Mufti Ramzan Sialvi was conducted under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act and has now been completed.

The department has ordered recovery of more than Rs26.58 million from the former Data Darbar khateeb as part of the disciplinary action.

According to the inquiry decision, Mufti Ramzan Sialvi has also been demoted from BS-19 to BS-18 for a period of five years. He has been ordered to serve as a Zonal Khateeb Auqaf in Dera Ghazi Khan.

The department has further imposed a five-year ban on his posting in Lahore and its adjoining areas.

The decision also states that Mufti Ramzan Sialvi will not be posted in future at any major shrine or a mosque attached to a major shrine.
