India Approves 3,000 Sikh Pilgrims to Visit Pakistan for Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 557th Birth Anniversary

India has approved a group of approximately 3,000 Sikh pilgrims to travel to Pakistan to attend celebrations marking the 557th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee have confirmed the approval of the pilgrims' group.

The approved pilgrims are expected to receive visas from the Pakistan High Commission in India before travelling to Pakistan through the Wagah border on November 22.

During their visit, the pilgrims will participate in celebrations marking Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary and pay their respects at several sacred Sikh shrines across Pakistan, including important historical gurdwaras associated with the founder of Sikhism.

The pilgrims are expected to return to India around December 1, after completing their religious pilgrimage.
