Indian Army Steps Up Combat Readiness in Occupied Kashmir; Next 10 Days Deemed Crucial

IIOJK: Indian military leadership warns that rising infiltration attempts could be treated as an act of war; preparations for a strong response reportedly complete

The Indian Army has stepped up its combat preparedness amid rising infiltration incidents in the border areas of Indian-occupied Kashmir and the possibility of a deterioration in the security situation, while the next 10 days are being described as exceptionally important.

The Indian military leadership has reportedly warned that if infiltration incidents continue to increase, they could be treated not merely as cross-border movements but as tantamount to an act of war, prompting a strong retaliatory response. Preparations for such a response have reportedly been completed.

Meanwhile, Indian Army personnel performed the traditional religious ritual of Shastra Pujan, which is described in this account as the final step before a possible war.

The ritual involves the worship of weapons and is associated with the Indian Army's traditions, warrior identity and commitment to national defence.

Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, head of the Indian Army's Western Command, visited forward positions in the Jammu Sector and personally participated in the Shastra Pujan ceremony alongside the troops.

He interacted with troops deployed in the area and instructed them to remain prepared to deal with any emergency situation.

The Army Commander reviewed the morale, professional capabilities and combat readiness of the personnel. He also held a meeting with senior military officials to discuss operational planning and the security situation in the region.

The military leadership has directed all concerned units to remain ready for an immediate response in view of suspicious movements in border areas, possible infiltration attempts and any sudden security incident.

According to sources, the next 10 days are being regarded as decisive.

During this period, several scenarios remain possible, including an improvement in the border situation, an increase in limited incidents, or an escalation of tensions into a wider crisis.

An increase in security measures on both sides following a single incident could further complicate the situation.

General Pushpendra Singh has also reportedly ordered that any attempt at cross-border infiltration be met with an immediate response and that the Army remain prepared for any possible emergency.
