Kejriwal and 110 Family Members Missing from Delhi Draft Voter List

India: The names of Arvind Kejriwal, national convenor of India’s opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and three-time Delhi Chief Minister, and 110 members of his family have been excluded from the Delhi voter list.
Those excluded include Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, son Pulkit Kejriwal, and his parents Govind Ram Kejriwal and Geeta Devi. Their names are not included in the draft voter list for New Delhi Assembly Constituency AC-40, Part-51, K.G. Marg, although Kejriwal and all members of his family are registered voters in the same constituency.
The Aam Aadmi Party has termed the action by the Election Commission of India a possible irregularity in the electoral process and has sought an explanation.
It may be noted that 4.75 million names out of Delhi’s 14.5 million registered voters were not included in the draft electoral roll released on August 31. Kejriwal had earlier also criticised the Election Commission over the exclusion of a large number of voters’ names from the draft list. He has said that the disappearance of more than 4.7 million names in Delhi is a serious matter.
