Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft Until November 24

Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace for another month, with the restriction now in place until November 24, 2026.
According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority on Saturday, Pakistani airspace remains closed to Indian-registered aircraft as well as aircraft owned, operated or leased by Indian airlines or operators, including military flights. The extension took effect at 7:45pm on Saturday and will remain in force until 4:59am on November 24.
Pakistan first imposed the airspace restriction in late April 2025 amid heightened tensions with India following the Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir. India later reciprocated by closing its airspace to Pakistani airlines. The measure has been extended repeatedly since then, marking nearly 19 consecutive months of the closure.
The continued ban has forced Indian airlines to take longer alternative routes for flights to Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, increasing flight times, fuel consumption and operational costs.
