Pakistani Actress Meera Questioned and Denied Entry to Canada

Pakistani film actress Meera was stopped by Canadian immigration officials at the Niagara border, questioned for several hours, and denied entry into Canada before being returned to the United States.
Meera was travelling from New York to attend a scheduled show when authorities halted her near Niagara Falls. She told Geo News that officials asked only basic questions before refusing her entry and sending her back.
“I still do not know why I was deported from Canada. I am trying to verify the facts. Immigration officials only asked me basic questions before deporting me. I suspect someone may have made a malicious complaint against me,” Meera said.
The incident follows her earlier visit to Calgary, where she promoted her film Psycho and performed on stage. Some reports suggest the denial may relate to questions over work permits or performance authorisation from that trip, though Canadian authorities have not publicly confirmed the reason.
Meera holds a US Green Card and has previously faced immigration difficulties, including entry restrictions in the United Kingdom. She may be able to challenge the decision through Canada’s federal court system.
