Saudi-led forces strike oil facility near Sanaa after deadly Houthi attacks on Riyadh

Saudi-led coalition warplanes struck a Yemen Petroleum Company oil depot on the western outskirts of Sanaa on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, with explosions reported in the Houthi-held capital.
The targeted Al-Sabaha central station held no petroleum stocks at the time of the attack, according to Yemeni authorities, limiting any immediate impact on fuel supplies. The coalition had earlier issued a public evacuation warning for the site and released a map identifying the location.
The strike follows a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and energy infrastructure in recent days. A ballistic missile strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday killed at least 13 people and wounded hundreds, forcing the temporary suspension of operations at the airport. Further Houthi strikes have disrupted air travel across the kingdom.
Both sides have traded threats. Houthi spokesmen warned of a “harsh and painful” response against targets in Riyadh, including Aramco facilities and the capital’s airport, if Sanaa was hit. The Saudi-led coalition described the action as a response to repeated Houthi attacks.
