Azma Bukhari Says Arrest of Patloo Not Officially Confirmed

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said that the reported arrest of Ansar Mehmood, also known as Patloo, has not yet been officially confirmed.

Several media outlets reported that Patloo was arrested from Islamabad’s Gulberg area. However, Azma Bukhari said she could not confirm the reports. She stated that an FIR had been registered in connection with the stampede, around six to seven suspects had been arrested, and police raids were continuing to apprehend the remaining absconders.

Police had been searching for Patloo following the stampede. In a video statement, he had claimed that he would surrender once his health improved.
