Afghan refugees have become a major security challenge for host countries.

According to Afghanistan International, fourteen more illegal Afghan refugees were arrested in Turkiye’s Sanliurfa city. Three facilitators involved in the trafficking of illegal Afghan migrants were also arrested and transferred to jail.

Afghanistan International reported that the arrested Afghan refugees were traveling illegally by hiding in a truck.

According to Turkiye’s Migration agency, one hundred and fifty two thousand illegal refugees were arrested in the past year, with Afghan nationals making up the largest group.
