Akasa Air and SpiceJet Aircraft Involved in Minor Ground Collision at Delhi Airport

India: Two Boeing 737 aircraft, one operated by Akasa Air and the other by SpiceJet, were involved in a minor collision on the ground at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) this afternoon, causing light damage but no injuries.

The incident occurred around 2:15 PM local time when SpiceJet’s Boeing 737, arriving from Leh, was maneuvering to its assigned gate, while Akasa Air’s Boeing 737 MAX, preparing for departure to Hyderabad, was under pushback from its stand.

According to aviation tracking data and eyewitness accounts, the arriving SpiceJet aircraft clipped the wing of the Akasa Air plane during the simultaneous ground movements. The collision was low-speed, resulting in minor damage primarily to the wing area of one or both aircraft.

No passengers or crew members were injured. Both aircraft were immediately taken out of service for technical inspection by airline engineers and regulators.

Flight operations at Delhi Airport continued normally otherwise, though the affected flights faced delays or aircraft changes.
