Akasa Air Pilot Passes Away After Heart Attack During Training in Bengaluru

India: An Akasa Air captain tragically died on Thursday after suffering a heart attack during a ground training session in Bengaluru. The pilot, who was approximately 44 years old, experienced a sudden medical emergency while on duty at a training facility and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

In an official statement, Akasa Air expressed deep sadness over the loss and confirmed that the airline is providing all possible support to the pilot’s family and colleagues during this difficult time.

This incident marks the second sudden death of an Indian airline pilot within just 48 hours, following the passing of an Air India first officer under similar circumstances during a layover in Bali on Wednesday.

The back-to-back tragedies have renewed industry-wide concerns regarding the high-stress nature of the profession and the overall health and wellness of flight crews operating in the sector.
