At Least 25 Killed, Over 50 Injured in Suicide Blast on Passenger Train Near Quetta

Quetta has once again been left bloodied. Before the joys of Eid could arrive, the devastating blast at Chaman Phatak has extinguished the lamps of many homes. Innocent children and women were also caught in the grip of this tragedy, with the number of martyrs exceeding 25 and dozens more wounded.

A powerful explosion struck near a passenger train at Chaman Phatak on Sunday morning. Several bogies of the train derailed due to the blast, with reports of fire breaking out. According to initial information, at least 52 people were injured. Rescue and security forces have launched relief operations, rushing the injured to nearby hospitals.

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the suicide attack, which reportedly targeted security personnel on board. One bogie was severely damaged, and nearby houses and vehicles also suffered heavy impact.

Balochistan continues to witness repeated attacks on railway infrastructure by separatist groups. Pakistani officials have condemned the incident as a cowardly act that has claimed civilian lives, including women and children, and an investigation is underway.
