ATV Transmission Shut Down, Shalimar Recording Company Closed After 52 Years

In a major development for Pakistan’s media industry, ATV’s transmissions were officially taken off air at exactly 5:00 PM on Friday. The shutdown has left hundreds of employees and their families facing uncertainty as their source of livelihood has been affected.

The closure also marks the end of an era for Shalimar Recording Company, which was established in 1974. After 52 years of operation, the company has been shut down and its building sealed.

The decision brings to a close one of Pakistan’s longstanding broadcasting institutions, raising concerns about the future of employees and the preservation of the organization’s media legacy.
