BSF Apprehends Mentally Unstable Pakistani National in Jaisalmer Border Crossing

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested a 35-year-old mentally disabled Pakistani citizen named Ishrat, who inadvertently crossed the international border and entered Indian territory in the border district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

This action was carried out by the BSF’s 72nd Battalion during routine patrolling in the Nachna sector. According to the BSF press release, personnel spotted a suspected individual crossing the border towards Indian territory. The area was then cordoned off, and he was taken into custody before being immediately transferred to a nearby border outpost.

During initial interrogation, he identified himself as Ishrat, son of Rana Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Sargodha district in Punjab, Pakistan. BSF officials stated that Ishrat appeared highly agitated and anxious during questioning. No weapons, documents, or suspicious materials were recovered from him during the search; however, a medical examination is underway to assess his mental condition.

According to the BSF, Pakistan Rangers officials have been informed about the incident.
