CIK raids 22 locations across Kashmir in fresh crackdown

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Counter Intelligence Kashmir along with Indian paramilitary and police personnel has launched a massive crackdown on 22 locations across the Kashmir valley.

The raids were conducted simultaneously at multiple sites, with nearly 15 locations targeted in Srinagar alone, while the remaining searches were carried out in different districts across the Valley.

Indian officials, justifying the misuse of draconian laws, claimed that the raids and searches were linked to an ongoing probe into anti-India and pro-freedom activities. They aimed to trace so-called “mule accounts” under the guise of a cyber-crime probe.

IIOJK continues to reel under an unprecedented wave of Indian repression, with killings, arbitrary detentions, cordon-and-search operations and digital surveillance becoming a grim daily routine. Indian authorities persist with indiscriminate arrests, invocation of draconian laws and seizure of private properties to silence the Kashmiris’ freedom voice. Ordinary Kashmiris remain trapped in relentless raids and interrogations, while Indian troops enjoy unchecked powers to kill, detain and harass innocent civilians.

The action has been linked to what Indian agencies describe as efforts to “disrupt financial networks facilitating cyber terror activities.” However, rights advocates and political analysts maintain that such operations form part of India’s wider strategy to harass, intimidate and rope in Kashmiri civilians under fabricated cyber and financial charges in the occupied territory.
