The fifty-fourth death anniversary of Urdu, Punjabi and Pothohari poet Baqi Siddiqui is being observed today.
He was born in 1905 in Rawalpindi. Baqi Siddiqui’s real name was Muhammad Afzal.
He remained associated with Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi and wrote many songs in the Pothohari language.
Baqi Siddiqui passed away on this day in 1972.
