Fresh Bomb Threats Disrupt Delhi Schools for Second Time in a Week

At least three to four schools in the Indian capital received bomb threat emails this morning, leading to the swift evacuation of students, teachers, and staff as a precautionary measure, authorities confirmed.

The threats, reported via email, prompted immediate responses from Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, and Delhi Fire Services (DFS). The first alert came around 9:12–9:13 AM from BT Tamil School (also known as BD Tamil Education School or Delhi Tamil Education Association) in Jhandewalan, central Delhi.

Affected institutions included Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate, The British School in Chanakyapuri, Kendriya Vidyalaya in Gole Market
and others.

Police and fire teams conducted thorough anti-sabotage searches and security sweeps at the campuses. Early updates from officials indicate no suspicious items or explosives were found, suggesting the threats are likely hoaxes, consistent with a similar wave earlier this week.

This marks the second incident in under a week. On Monday February 9, around 9–15 schools across Delhi, including prominent ones like Delhi Public School Rohini, Bal Bharati Public School, and others, received comparable email threats, some containing provocative language referencing “Khalistan” and historical figures. Those were also declared hoaxes after exhaustive checks, with students safely evacuated and classes resuming later.

Delhi Police are actively investigating the source of today’s emails, which appear to originate from anonymous or masked accounts, making traceability challenging. Officials have urged parents, students, and school authorities to remain calm while procedures are completed, assuring that campuses will be cleared for normal operations once declared safe.

The recurring bomb hoaxes have raised concerns about school security protocols and the growing use of digital threats to cause widespread disruption in educational institutions. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, with cyber teams involved in tracing efforts.
