India Declares 23 Pakistan-Linked Individuals as Terrorists Under UAPA

India’s Ministry of Home Affairs has designated 23 Pakistan-linked individuals as terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), citing their alleged involvement in terrorism-related activities targeting the country.

According to the ministry, the list includes 17 Pakistani nationals and six Indian nationals who are stated to be operating from Pakistan and Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

The government alleged that the individuals are associated with banned militant outfits, including Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), and The Resistance Front (TRF).

The designated individuals have been accused of involvement in a range of activities, including the 2016 Nagrota Army camp attack, the 2018 Sunjuwan Military Station attack, cross-border infiltration, drone-based arms smuggling, recruitment of militants, and financing terrorist operations.

With the latest notification, the total number of individuals designated as terrorists under the UAPA has risen to 80, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
