Indian Northern Army Commander Reviews Operational Readiness in Ladakh

Indian Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited frontline and high-altitude areas of Ladakh to review the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the challenging sector.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Sharma interacted directly with soldiers stationed in high-altitude and difficult terrain.
Lieutenant General Sharma stressed the importance of discipline, physical fitness and regular training in maintaining operational effectiveness. He also called for greater emphasis on innovation, synergy and enhanced technological capabilities to ensure that the force remains prepared to respond effectively across different operational environments.
The Army Commander also reviewed the prevailing security situation, operational readiness and preparedness of formations deployed in the Ladakh sector. During his interaction with personnel, he encouraged them to maintain high training standards, make effective use of modern technology and strengthen coordination among different units and formations.
Ladakh remains one of the most challenging environments for military deployment due to its extreme altitude, severe cold and difficult mountainous terrain. Maintaining troops and operational capabilities in such conditions requires sustained logistical support, specialized training and continuous readiness.
