India’s Jadumani Singh Dominates Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman 5-0 to Reach CWG Boxing Quarterfinals

Indian boxer Jadumani Singh Mandengbam produced a commanding performance to defeat Pakistan’s Sumama Rehman by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the men’s 55kg Round of 16 at the Commonwealth Games 2026 on Sunday, booking his place in the quarterfinals.

The high-intensity India-Pakistan clash at the SEC Centre in Glasgow lived up to its billing. The 22-year-old Manipuri Army boxer responded in style, using superior technique, speed, and ringcraft to outclass his taller opponent across all three rounds.

After a competitive opening round, Jadumani took complete control. He repeatedly landed sharp hooks and straight punches, forcing the referee to administer a standing count to Rehman in the second round after a stinging right hand. With the bout effectively decided, the Indian boxed confidently in the final round from the centre of the ring, inviting pressure before countering with quick movement and precision. All five judges scored the contest in his favour (three cards 30-27, two 29-28).

This was Jadumani’s second consecutive 5-0 victory at the Games, following his earlier clean sweep over Scotland’s Aaron Cullen in the Round of 32.

Jadumani will next face the winner of the Zambia-South Africa bout in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, one win away from a medal.
