Maulana Amir Hamza Injured in Gun Attack on TV Host’s Vehicle in Lahore

Unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the vehicle of retired Justice Nazir Ahmed Ghazi, a host on 24NewsHD, in Lahore on Thursday morning, injuring prominent religious scholar Maulana Amir Hamza.

The incident occurred at Peco Road’s Pindi Stop area as Ghazi was returning home after recording his religious programme Noor-e-Sehar at the City News office. Maulana Amir Hamza, Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool Pakistan (THRP), had appeared on the show and was travelling with him at the time.

Justice (retd) Nazir Ahmed Ghazi remained unhurt in the attack, while Maulana Amir Hamza sustained a bullet injury to his arm. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, with efforts underway to identify the attackers using CCTV footage from the area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the motive remains unclear at this stage. Authorities have not yet made any arrests.
