Melbourne Stadium Facebook Post Warns Modi Is “Coming to Australia to Die”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly received a death threat ahead of a community event scheduled to be held at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on 9 July 2026 during his visit to Australia.

According to a report by India Today, the threat was posted on the Marvel Stadium Facebook event page by a user identified as “Abu Mustafa.” The post warned that the stadium’s roof should remain closed, claiming that otherwise “Modi is coming to Australia to die.”

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) were alerted to the online threat on 3 July and immediately launched an investigation. Authorities have reportedly traced the IP address linked to the suspected account, although no arrests have been made so far.

The community event at Marvel Stadium is being regarded as one of the key engagements of Prime Minister Modi’s Australia visit, prompting heightened security scrutiny following the online threat.
