Net metering applications submitted by Feb 8 to be processed under old regulations: Awais

Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has directed that net metering applications submitted by 8th of this month be processed under the old regulations.
This applies to all electricity distribution companies, including K-Electric.
A total of five thousand, one hundred and sixty-five applications have been submitted to all distribution companies, including K-Electric, by 8th February. These applications will add 250.822 MW of capacity to the national grid.
This decision by the Federal Minister for Power has cleared any ambiguities regarding the current applications.
The Minister also directed to maintain transparency in the application processing. He said electricity consumers may register any complaints at 118.
