Pakistan: Diplomacy with Kabul Open, Not Seeking War

While tensions between Kabul and Islamabad continue, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry says it has not closed the door to diplomacy and is not seeking war.
Tahir Andrabi, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, said at a press conference that Islamabad’s security concerns must be taken seriously.
Political analysts believe that relations between Kabul and Islamabad are at a sensitive stage, and that continued diplomatic dialogue, even amid current tensions, could prevent disagreements from escalating into direct confrontation.
The remarks by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson come after Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, earlier spoke of the possibility of military action before the month of Ramadan.
