Pakistan recognized, honoured at Board of Peace Meeting: Tarar
Minister of Information, Ataullah Tarar said Pakistan has received “great recognition and honour” at the Gaza Board of Peace meeting. The minister termed it a moment of pride for the country.

In a video shared to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Tarar said that the US President Donald Trump’s praise for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CFD) Field Marshal Asim Munir, has added to Pakistan’s prestige and wider global recognition.

The minister added that Pakistan has “emerged as an important player on the global stage” since last year. Describing the change as a success for Pakistan’s foreign policy, he added that it is the “result of teamwork” between the PM and the Field Marshal.

Tarar further highlighted that the PM has actively and consistently raised the Palestinian cause at every platform including the United Nations (UN) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), respectively.

Referencing the PM’s statement that the “Palestinians have a right to their land, that they should be granted self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, and that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is essential for lasting peace”, Tarar said the remarks are a reflection of the heartfelt sentiments of the Palestinians – as a source of pride for the Muslim community.
Likewise, the “confident body language” of the leaders has sent the signal of a strong rapport and enhanced prestige for Pakistan, stated Tarar.

Speaking about the state’s foreign policy, Tarar said Pakistan is moving away from a time of isolation by making “significant strides forward” showcasing the honest leadership by yielding positive results.
It is pertinent to mention that the inaugural meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace was held at the US Institute of Peace in Washington on Friday, 19th February 2026, led by the serving President of the United States, Donald Trump. The meeting was attended by PM Shehbaz Sharif at an invitation by Trump.
PM Sharif called for an end to ceasefire violations in Gaza, while addressing the meeting, stressing that it was “very important” for lasting peace in the region.
