PM Sharif, Army Chief Munir Hold Key Talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People on Monday, as part of high-level engagements marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Footage from the meeting showed warm handshakes, a formal guard of honor ceremony, and delegation-level discussions. The visit, which runs for four days, focuses on deepening economic cooperation, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aligning development strategies, and addressing regional stability.

The presence of Army Chief Munir alongside the Prime Minister highlights the strategic civil-military dimension of Pakistan-China ties. Munir’s participation comes shortly after his recent visit to Iran, signaling Pakistan’s efforts to play a bridging role in regional tensions, including mediation possibilities between the US and Iran.
